This morning at 10:45 AM a few guys from the Dutch FJR Club (Mettes Van Der Giessen and his wife Maritza, Vic Sadowski and I) met Pierre Sousa Lima with his wife and friends when they were entering the country from Belgium where they stayed last night and were on their way to Norway.
We shaked hands, took some pictures and talked a while when drinking a cup of coffee.
They are very nice people.
At 11:45 they headed to Germany to continue their journey.

Thanks for the pics Aaa95. They are great. Looks like Pierre is traveling with two ST1300's. It was good that you could briefly visit and I wish Pierre, his wife and friends a safe journey.

Great photos Toon, mywife was looking over my shoulder looking at your pictures and she commented how we bike riders all look the same the world over. The planet is definitely shrinking! Maybe oneday we'll all be able to meet up in the middle somewhere. (plus heaps of translators of course).

Strangers meeting as friends. Possibly the FJR's greatest feature, yet never mentioned in the brochures. I don't think Yamaha even knows what they've done.

Proud to be a Hoon

Why shouldn't somebody organize something in 2006 when the FJR is 5 years on the market?

Pierre:

I am so jealous of what the weather must be like over there right now.. There's NO WAY I could ride down here in Louisiana today with anything like what ya'll have on. I'm down to a mesh Teknic jacket and NO t-shirt even. It's 95 degrees with 90% humidity today..!! Please do some serious riding for me, wish I was there because it looks so great..

I had the pleasure of being their guide on their first day in Norway. A 500 km ride with lots of curvy roads, mountains and fjords. Very nice people.

Dear Toon,

Thanks a lot for the great pictures that I already saved to my trip’s photo CD Album.

Here are four other pictures taken by my friend Carlos and my brother in law Manuel:

As I told you before I and my friends had also a great pleasure to meet you personally as well as your very kind friends.

Beside you and your friends, during our unforgettable trip to Norway we were fortunate to meet many other FJR great m8’s like Vera and Francis and their friends in Belgium, as well as Ommund, Julia and Hakon in Norway (those two last ones own a 1986 Goldwing). If the World is already small, Internet and the FJR’s make it even smaller !

Back in Portugal and the day after arriving from my 10.859 km Norway trip, I integrated "Portugal's 1st FJR Owners Meeting" (+900 kms) and, beside many other FJR (and non FJR) friends, I had the pleasure to meet Migmagal personally:

Once again I want to present my apologize to Toon and his friends for being late at our meeting, this because after the fabulous dinner and birthday party we had at Boothotel La Peniche the night before, it wasn’t easy to wake up early ...

The cake's wonderful details

I also want to thank Hans for including a link to my site at the FJROwners web site front page. It was a great help for this FJR riders "brotherhood".

The 2006 meeting seems to be a great idea. Please count on me for sure !

All the best from this small mid Atlantic paradise (... comparing it with Norway)

Pierre, não devia ter publicado esta fotografia.
O João Penedo apanhou-o num momento embaraçoso.
Será que reparou?

Espero que tenham feito boa viagem de volta a casa.
E as motos já chegaram a bom porto?

Um grande abraço.
