Yo Boyz... I'll be there to see my homeys! I'm down wit dat - yow yow!

My track day in St. Louis got postponed for lack of volunteers... so I'll give my sister-in-law a quick ride in the morning... (she's never been on a streetbike before) and have a nice, leisurely ride down in the afternoon!

Posting from the pocketPC at the Cards-Dodgers game. Doesn't look good for Matt Morris so far...

Just finished packing the you know what. I have no idea how long it'll take with this set up but I'm leaving about 5:00 am. I expect to toast the BT Saturday. You guys be gentle, now. Ain't had much practice lately but my plumbing, sheetrocking and flooring skills are top notch. If you pass a maroon F150 pulling a white box it are I.

Have fun! Be safe!

Well, I lied. I thought I had 500 miles left on the BT. It delivered 366 rather brisk miles and is officially toast. Sorry, guys. You other hoons missed it. Boggs has benn practicing... especially in the wet. Mack hid his chicken strip since Mena and spent most of the day showing us why. John did the quickest first trip down Push Mountain Road I've ever witnessed (thanks for the draft John) and was suitably impressed with the endless string of 25 MPH postings. What a day. It never busted 90 and the wet evaporated after the first 2 hours.

This trailering thing appears to be working so far. The roll-ons up to 70 MPH are rather tedius but the 541 miles in 9.5 hours seemed reasonable. The bank sign coming into town said 100. I'm seeing summer biking in a whole new light.

Well my Amass friends (including those of you there in ‘spirit’), a MOST excellent ride. OK, so the day did start out a bit moist. A hoon can’t let that get’em down tho, right?

What’s a trip to the Ozarks without a stop at the local Wally world?

Wally World

Here’s ol’Wayne, at the end of a long one-lane bridge on 123, showing us the Big-A** rock in the river. You’re a heck of tour guide Wayne.

Lest y’all think we’re not patriotic here in the hills, here’s a proud rock on hwy 16 (it was 16 wasn’t it Wayne?)

Tour guide Wayne showin’ us the sights one more time. Hey, is that Calico Rock?

Calico Rock

Here’s a pic at the south end of hwy 341 (aka Push Mountain road). You guys were monsters on that road! Good thing we met the friendly officer stopped at the end of the road, eh fellows, of he might not have been so friendly.

Hwy341

Hey Mac, at least the center tread still looks good!

One heck of a fine ride guys – don’t know that I’ll see better, let’s see…hwy 123, 27, 16, 9, 87, 5, 341, 14. Mighty fine riding and great camaraderie, and don’t think I didn’t learn a thing or three from you guys! Come on back now, y’hear?

BTW, David1300 - the BIG PLAN - oh man, now that sounds interesting!

Boggs,
Don't want to derail your good time, just a quick note to tell you we are not coming your way. Decided that the weather thats suppose to come into Texas is not to our liking. We are going straight for Colorado,Wyoming,Idaho, and maybe Washington. Leaving at 6am in the morning. Maybe I can get with you Hoons in the fall. Talk to you in about 3 weeks.

It was another fine hoon fest lads. Boggs is now known as "rain man." He forgot to slow down when the roads were wet! Thanks for the lesson boggy, I used all my new wet ride knowledge on the way home. I rode through 200 miles of rain. On top of Talimena, it was in the 50's, about a 40 mph wind and my fingers were so cold they were stiff. Within 45 minutes, down off of the mountain, it was 100 degrees and I thought I was going to melt. Weird.

I got my return trip down to 525 miles with a short cut down 123. No problem again. I really love all this bike can do.

Wayne, in all honesty, Calico Rock was a let down.

John, sorry helmet cam failed us. We'll have it sorted next time. Let me know if need any info for the "battery tender" hook up.

A great trip in spite of a damp start. Cold ones all around!

And now a few pics:

Boy guys you really know how to make a guy feel bad, Sorry I missed this one, sounds like you had a great time. I WILL see you all in Sept and Oct. th0.

50 degrees in AR Mack? unbelieveable. It was 102 here this afternoon. I spent 4 hrs in it putting tie downs in the trailer, getting it ready for the AL trip.

Glad you are all safe.

Yup, the flag is about 8 miles west of Clinton on AR16. And I don't think that other bigass rock is Calico Rock.. or it is calico rock .. but it is just east of Calico Rock.. and it is one hell of a calico rock or rock that should be Calico Rock... in Calico Rock.

Nice pictures there Boggs. It serves to demonstrate that no matter how much "sport" you lay on a day ride, there is still an element of "touring" with us sport tourers. Of course in that picture Mack was asking how much longer to the beer and John wanted to know how much longer to AR341. All I wanted to know is if they would promise to remind me to bring my camera next trip.

And just so everybody knows... the "oughttabee Calico rock" picture is NOT a portfolio picture for a Draggin Jeans commercial.

Looks like you had a great time! Hey Boggs, that's a pretty official looking document you're holding--- just a warning, or the real thing?

Oh yeah, Charles!! You're as young as you feel and these FJRs make us all younger everyday.
