I couldn't make the Townsend event this year but I have some vacation time to use up by years end. What is the weather like in that area the 2nd week of December? Is it still good riding or has the snow already hit? |

The weather that time of year is "hit or miss." If you have to commit to a date you have about a 50/50 chance of it being decent. The best bet, if you can be flexable and keep track of the weather you'll be able to hit it during the dry times. I've been through the area during the winter months and it's great if you get dry weather, you'll have all the roads to yourself. Being in the south percipitation will most likely be rain, but you have to watch for freezing temps mornings and evenings. Being from Michigan I doubt it will be to cold for you. |

I finally made the donation to the PBTF from the proceeds from the EOM. I apologize to all for the delay. I'm trying to figure out how to post the whole letter, but here's the text for now... January 4, 2005 Dianne Traynor Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation of the US 302 Ridgefield Court Ashville, NC 28806 Paul Gerle Edited by Admin - address removed Ms. Traynor, On behalf of a loosely-knit group of motorcyclists unofficially known as the Yamaha FJR 1300 Eastern Owners’ Association, please accept the enclosed donation as a small token of our appreciation for the invaluable work performed by the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation. Special thanks go to Bob Starr, Mark Dipko, and Jennifer Davie of Yamaha Motor Corporation for providing our group with a generous supply of Yamaha products, the selling of door prize tickets for which helped raise the enclosed sum. Thanks also to Mike Weddle of Wichita, KS for countless hours of work creating t-shirts and generously donating the proceeds. Please accept our sincere thanks for the work the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation does to help children everywhere. Respectfully, Paul E. Gerle
